History
It’s Highmark Casualty Insurance Company’s policy to protect. As times have changed, so have we, continually working to accommodate the needs of the market, and, ultimately, our clients.
Highmark Casualty has a strong foundation in effective operations and relationship-based sales, both of which enable the company to provide clients with the right programs, advice and attitudes to meet the ever-changing market.
Stop Loss sales began in the mid-1980s, assisting companies in managing the excess risk associated with their health coverage. The marketing of Workers’ Compensation began in the 1990s, providing programs to employer groups primarily in Western Pennsylvania and then expanding to the central and eastern parts of the state.
Throughout our history, Highmark Casualty has focused on building strong, consultative relationships with our producers and business partners. Flexibility is an integral part of our business model. Experience and expert knowledge have led to innovations that continue to move the company to where the market is going to be, keeping a step ahead, so that our clients can be protected as market changes influence their health benefit risks.
